Backcourt Improvement

Following on from the success of the Phase 1 Backcourt Improvement Programme in Ibrox, Govan Housing Association is pleased to announce that Phase 2 is now underway.  Phase 2 incorporates Midlock Street, Ibrox Street, Middleton Street and Elizabeth Street.

The intention of this programme is to transform the dilapidated backcourt area into a functional and pleasant amenity space for all householders to enjoy.

Govan Housing Association has held a number of public meetings with local residents to reach agreement on the design proposals.  It is proposed that AEL, the contractor who carried out the first phase of works, will also carry out the Phase 2 contract.  We hope to be on site at the end of March/beginning of April for a 16 week contract.

We appreciate that there will be a certain amount of inconvenience involved for residents whilst the backcourts are out of bounds, but we hope to minimise this as much as possible.
