We are required by Regulation to inspect and service all gas heating systems, fires and boilers once a year. It is important that you give access to the heating engineer to carry this out. It is your health and safety and the health and safety of other residents in the property that is at risk if you do not do so. If you do not provide access, we have the right to force entry. If we have to force entry, you will be liable for the cost of any damage caused and the replacement of locks and keys.
You must always get permission, in writing, from the Association to change or install any gas appliance. Appliances not belonging to us must be serviced by you, and you must provide us with a copy of the gas safety certificate every year.
If you call us out to repair your central heating and the breakdown is due to lack of credit in a prepayment metre, we will charge you for the cost of the call out.
If you smell gas:
Unless you have turned off the source of the gas (e.g. a pilot light) phone Transco on their emergency number 0800 111 999.
