Govan Housing Association is a community focused Registered Social Landlord based in Govan, Glasgow. The Association itself possesses a rich history and one of development and innovation. Founded in 1971, the Association was the first community based housing provider, leading the way for social housing provision in Scotland. After over 40 years of operating in the housing sector, the Association now manages approximately 1,600 socially rented properties and over 600 factored properties as well as taking an active role in the regeneration of the area and continuing to improve the quality of life of residents.
We are seeking an Energy Debt Adviser to provide an Energy Debt service to the tenants and factored owners of Govan Housing Association. The service will educate people about their household energy consumption, develop skills and confidence to take more control of their energy use and bills as well as providing advice on tariffs and fuel switching. The post holder will play a vital role in the development and growth of our Financial Inclusion Service and will be responsible for driving the promotion and delivery of energy debt advice leading to behavioural change and a reduction in fuel bills for our tenants and owners.
The successful candidate will have a City & Guilds Energy Awareness qualification and will have experience of working in a related field. As you will be working directly with tenants you will have experience in working with people from a wide range of backgrounds, groups and communities. You will possess excellent communication skills especially written and verbal with the ability to present information to individuals and groups. You must also be IT literate with an aptitude in the use of common applications such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.)
