Join our Management Committee

Our Management Committee, which can have a maximum of 15 Members at any one time, has overall responsibility for governance of the Association, leading and shaping our direction and success as a business.  All strategic decisions are made by our Management Committee, which meets monthly (with a summer and festive season recess in July and December, respectively) to consider matters relating to the business.  We have three office bearers: Chairperson, Vice Chairperson and Secretary. To help manage and consider the various disciplines of the business, our Management Committee also splits into three sub-committees: Audit, Staffing, and Operations and Development.

Community Connections

Help shape your community

Everyone is concerned about how their home and neighborhood is managed.

Tenant participation is how you can help influence the decisions made about the services you receive and the management of your home and neighborhood. It is a two-way process that involves the sharing of information and ideas with the aim of improving the standard of service we provide. We welcome and encourage you to feedback your views and we recognise the importance of meeting your needs and expectations.

Why

Get Involved

  • More local contact with staff
  • Ways to meet neighbours and other agencies working in the community

  • Can influence decision making

How To Get Involved

There are different ways to get involved in helping us improve our services and our performance. It’s up to you how much or how little you want to participate.

  • Become a Member of the Association – You can become a member of Govan Housing Association by paying £1. This entitles you to a copy of the Annual Report, Annual Accounts and an invitation to the Annual General Meeting.
  • Become a Member of the Management Committee – The Management Committee meets monthly to govern and make strategic decisions about the organization. Members are volunteers, and training and support is provided.
  • Become a Member of the Service Scrutiny Panel – The panel is made up of tenant volunteers who evaluate service performance, identify service challenges and make recommendations for improvements. Training and support are provided.
  • Participate in local events – The Association runs a number of local events throughout the year. This is a great opportunity to come along and feed into current works that the Association is consulting on, and just to provide general feedback.

Other ways

  • Residents Associations and Registered Tenant Organisations – These offer opportunities for residents to tackle local issues together. They act as a platform to consult with the Association and feed back information to other tenants and residents in the area.

Tenants & Residents Groups

We have two groups who work with us to help us deliver our services and to improve the neighbourhoods they live in.

Scrutiny Panel

Our Scrutiny Panel meets on a regular basis to give feedback and opinions on a range of matters involving the Association.

They will normally look at our policies when they are being reviewed and also act as a feedback panel on new initiatives the Association is considering.
